General Membership Meeting with Senator John Cornyn

More than six hundred gathered at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center to be updated on current US national defense issues by US Senator John Cornyn of Texas.
 


Sergeant Major Angela  Young  delivered the opening prayer.    


 

Senator Cornyn thanked Central Texans for supporting America’s Soldiers and their Families. “For some (Americans), the ongoing war in Afghanistan is something they read about in the newspaper or hear about on TV. For families in Fort Hood and the surrounding communities ... it's something far different."

 

Texas A&M University System Chancellor John Sharp was also with us, to be with Soldiers this evening and to participate on the day following in the Inauguration of Dr. Marc A. Nigliazzo as the first President of Texas A&M University – Central Texas.

 

The chapter owes a huge debt of gratitude to Ms. Doris Santos for her steadfast support of our chapter. Ms. Santos serves as the Administrative Assistant to AUSA State President  and former Chapter President Ron Taylor. Sharing the moment is her husband, CSM Jesse Santos, 1/44 ADA Bn, 69th ADA Bde.
